About our process

Your Team Leads. We Ensure Success.

Traditional ERP delivery is slow, expensive, and often leaves teams dependent on consultants. We deploy Business Central fully configured, train you on everything in the system, and coach you through implementation in phases. Your team is involved from day one.

No budget blowouts. No drawn-out timelines. No reliance on consultants.

Why ERP Projects Fall Behind

Traditional implementations take months. Ours deliver outcomes early.

Month 1

Traditional

Discovery call. Generic pitch. Promises to follow up.

Our Approach

Discovery call. Fixed-price agreement within the week. Kicked off week one.

Month 2

Traditional

Needs assessment workshops. Multiple on-site days. Endless meetings.

Our Approach

BC fully deployed. Team configuring and learning. Already operational.

Month 3

Traditional

Internal scoping. Functional requirements documents nobody reads.

Our Approach

Finance and inventory live. Team running the business on BC.

Month 4

Traditional

Custom demo prep. Still no implementation work started.

Our Approach

Manufacturing live. Data migrated. Testing done. Go-live.

Month 5

Traditional

Proposal delivered. Negotiation begins. Pricing still "estimated."

Our Approach

Done. Fully implemented. Team owns the system.

Months 6–12

Traditional

Contract signed. Discovery starts again. Customisation begins. Costs climbing.

Our Approach

Six months of operational improvement banked. Expanding into the Microsoft Stack.

Month 18+

Traditional

Go-live, maybe. Budget blown. Consultant dependency locked in.

Our Approach

Strategic decisions getting made on clean data. Next phase of growth underway.

Benefits

How We're Different

Traditional ERP implementations are expensive, slow, and leave you dependent on consultants. We work from a different model.

Client-Led Implementation

We build it with you, not for you. Traditional ERP locks you out while consultants build behind closed doors. We train you on the whole system, week by week, so you can configure, migrate data, and adapt processes without calling us every time something needs tweaking.

Fixed Scope, Fixed Price

The price we quote is the price you pay. No hidden fees, no time-and-materials billing, no scope creep. If we miss the delivery window for reasons in our control, we complete the remaining sessions at no cost.

Industry-Specific Expertise

We work with industrial businesses running complex operations. Not theory, not a generic demo environment. We configure BC against real jobs, real inventory structures, and real production workflows. We speak the language of the shop floor, not the slide deck.

Benefits

Built on Real-World Delivery Experience

We've Been Doing This Since Before "Cloud ERP" Was a Thing.

30+ years of award winning ERP experience

Ashcom has been implementing ERP systems in Australia since the 90s. We started with Sybiz Vision and now specialise in Business Central using the DIY-ERP methodology: a fixed-scope, client-led model built by a team with nearly 3 decades recovering failed ERP projects. It's designed around what actually works: knowledge transfer, client ownership, and a methodology that removes the guesswork from implementation.

Manufacturing, Engineering, Distribution, Mining Support

Industrial manufacturers, steel fabricators, ETO engineering firms, mining services contractors, wholesale distributors. If your business runs jobs, tracks inventory across sites, or manages project costs, we've likely done it before.

Built to Last, Not Built to Sell

We don't upsell add-ons you don't need. We don't pitch customisations to pad the invoice. Standard Business Central handles most of what you need if it's configured properly. When it doesn't, we'll tell you straight.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

We quote a price and a delivery window at the start. That's what you pay and when it's done. No time-and-materials hourly billing. No surprise invoices for additional configuration. If the project runs over the agreed timeline for reasons within our control, we finish the remaining sessions at no cost. If you request changes outside the agreed scope, we quote them separately and you approve before we do the work.
Most Business Central implementations are delivered in under 20 weeks of active effort, split across phases. Finance and inventory first (12 to 14 weeks), then manufacturing or project management (4 weeks), then service management (4 weeks). The calendar time depends on how fast your team works through data migration and testing between sessions, but the active delivery window is fixed.
Probably not. Most manufacturing, engineering, and distribution businesses run on standard Business Central functionality without add-ons. Complex multi-level BOMs, job costing, subcontracting, project accounting, and multi-site inventory are all standard. If you've been told you need expensive add-ons or heavy customisation, get a second opinion.
You own the system. Your team is trained on configuration, data migration, and troubleshooting during implementation, so you're not dependent on us for basic changes. We provide ongoing support if you need it, but most clients only engage us for advanced configuration or when adding new functionality.
Yes. Most of our delivery is remote via Teams. We work with clients across Australia, though we're based in Queensland. For complex implementations we can visit on-site during key phases if required, but most work is delivered week-to-week online.
Manufacturing (steel, fabrication, process), engineering (design, ETO, project-based), mining support (instruments, fitters, supplies), wholesale distribution, and industrial services. If your business involves complex job costing, project management, or multi-site inventory, we've likely implemented something very similar.
